Our practice has been associated with Grid Construction (GRID) since 1997 and during that time we have collaborated
on over twenty projects. My personal involvement has been the completion of ten of these buildings with GRID.
These completed projects have included a range of building types including industrial, retail, office, and mixed use developments.
The office projects have included office estate developments, tailored specifically for End Users with high specification finishes.
The six mixed use developments completed since 2006 have included a combination of commercial units with luxury apartments (330 units
in total). These developments have been structurally challenging and have been intricately planned and serviced. Whilst working
together with GRID on these projects, I have acted both as design consultant and occasionally as Principal Agent in both roles,
my experience has been one in which GRID have conducted themselves in a professional and reliable manner. The Contract Mangers and Site
Agents have been experienced, well organized, and have demonstrated initiative and positive co-operation with clients and members of
fellow professional disciplines. Without exception, every project that our practice has been involved with GRID, has been completed
within the stipulated contract period with certain projects even finished ahead of schedule. Despite these tight time constraints, GRID
consistently delivers a quality product at a highly competitive price.

Mbatha Walters and Simpson have worked with Grid Construction on many Projects, particularly in the Industrial,
Commercial and Residential Markets over the past few years. We have found them to be very competitive in their

Further to the Completion of the New Porsche Centre – Umhlanga, I would like to take the opportunity

This serves to confirm that Zenprop Property Holdings (Pty) Ltd has worked extensively with Grid Construction over the course of the last 3 years. Our first contract with Grid was for the construction of a distribution centre and offices, approximately 18 000m² in extent, which Grid won in a tender. The contract was successfully completed on time and within budget, complying with strict quality requirements. Following the success of this project, we proceeded to negotiate with Grid for the construction of 6 more buildings totaling approximately 40 000m². Much like the first project, these contracts were handled with the same professionalism and commitment we had come to expect from Grid.
We continue to enjoy a good relationship with Grid and would have no hesitation in working with them on projects in the future.

I would like to commend you and your team on a project well executed.
In my experience, GRID Construction has gone from strength to strength, starting with the Umhlanga CTM and Italtile project valued at that stage at
approximately R11 Million roughly eight years ago where speed of erection and economy appeared to be your forte, across the spectrum and most lately to the Riverhorse Park project, valued at +-R100 Million.
GRID have shown strength and improvement in quality of workmanship and attention to detail while remaining clearly focused on budgetary and time constraints.

GRID Construction was given authorisation to start our new super store on August 4. We indicated at the time we were opening our new store on December 4 of that year to take advantage of December trading. I am happy to say they managed to hand over the building to us and we were trading on December 4.

When GRID Construction accepted the challenge to build our new premises, close to Gateway, there were serious doubts about the project being completed on time. But within a record 11 weeks, the two buildings, with a total area of 6 000m², were complete and ready for business. The special requirements placed the team under immense pressure in terms of time constraints and quality, but we found this to be one of our easiest projects.
